Drop-Ins

What is a drop-in?

Designed for puppies and older dogs alike. Drop-ins are ideal if you need someone to pop in, feed, let out in the garden and check that they’re ok.

Why are drop-ins important?

Understanding and research on dogs welfare has proven that an important part of maintaining your dogs health and wellbeing is to never leave them alone for long periods. They are extremely sensitive and their emotional needs are very much like our own when it comes to feeling anxious. Like us too they are unique in how they cope with every day stresses. Most behaviourists and vets would agree that leaving any dog for more than 5 hours during the day or night can have a detrimental effect on their mental health.

How long should I leave my puppy?

Puppies from 10wks can be introduced slowly to short periods of being left alone. During their first 2months development, slowly introducing them to being on their own will help with any future separation anxiety problems. Puppies sleep a lot and with careful planning and timing they should never feel uncomfortable or scared when you go out. A maximum of 2 hours should be reached by 3months old. Some equipment can be used to great success such as crates and cameras, likki mats and Kongs.
